As I pulled into the car park at 9.15am the club was getting ready for "It’s Panto time

As you walk through the door you receive a warm welcome from our volunteers Michael and Allan who met through the project,weekly regulars, of the Saints Community Programme manning the Box Office

I am pleasantly surprised by such a well organised and professional set up. I pay my £1 for a copy of the programme created by Pauline another regular member and am automatically get entered into a prize draw. What a bargain such value for money.

I have a giggle when I see the cast line up but I am so proud of all of the volunteers whom have spent weeks learning their lines and attending dress rehearsals.

Oh hello Sue and Rosemary just chilling before the mad rush starts of serving all their money tea and coffee and then they serve the delicous lunches prepared by the effervescent Bev.

Bev in the kitchen always happy and working hard preparing delicious lunches each Wednesday. A choice of pie and mash or salad and jacket potato followed by jelly and Icecream today, how yummy.

Good morning, Kim stage name Mrs Humphries warming up in her stern head mistress role. Project leader who does a fantastic job organising every coffee morning and puts on all of the themed activity days. The project wouldn’t run without her at the helm of it.

Dave our Bar Manager beating off those nerves stage name Barney rehearsing his lines with the assistance of his lovely lady Caroline.

Its 10.15  atmosphere is so exciting about the performance ahead. Everybody settling down with a cuppa and biscuit before the curtains open.

The room is noisy and filled with chatter. Everybody catching up with each other going over their past weeks activities. Lovely to see and hear. Since the programme got off the ground in September some have rekindled friendships and made new ones.

11am and way we go. Oh dear didn't realise how risqué this would be. Gillian sounds a bit of a one definitely made an everlastingly and exciting impact on Toby, Barney and Arthur's lives.

I have never seen 3 old men go from sheer excitement reminiscing about luscious Gillian to sheer fright and panic when Mrs Humphries enters the room.

There I was very impressed with the first half until I was awarded a dunces hat for not joining in and singing loud enough, I wasn’t the only one though….. that Mrs Humphries is a very scary lady.

First half draws to the end everybody settles down to a delicious meal and a singalong and dance to the entertaining Billy Keys.

All the cast having a good knees up and kicking off those second half nerves.

Couldn't believe it time goes so fast when you are having an enjoyable day as it rapidly approaches the second half. The old dears now reliving their child hood at the fair. Enjoying (or was it being petrified of the Big Dipper?)

Not forgetting a huge thank you to our only and only very naughty but nice Cynthia Hilton for writing this pantomime.
