Memories - Uganda Orphanage
Today 2 more parcels finally reached the Orphanage we are supporting in Uganda . These have been on quite a journey and after one of the volunteers taking an 8 hour bus journey to sort out customs, our donations were divided up between some of the children today.
Earlier today some of the children received their very first football boots and proper footballs, along with kit donated by other local Brackley Football Teams. Whistles, refs cards, ball pumps. Today we made a few children in another part of the world feel like all their Christmas’s have come at once.
A very special heartfelt thank you to those that have donated, those kind souls that have brought tears to my eyes - paid for the postage for these parcels, - brought brand new boots and equipment for these kids and especially the children that have brought their old boots, football cards and kit to me at the club.
We will continue to support this Orphanage and their 180 children, our aim is to get them all their very own set of boots, a football and a kit to wear. Giving these children a focus for the future.
We are gratefully receiving old kit, boots size 3 adult and above and any spare change towards the cost of postage, there is a collection pot in the kitchen at BTFC.
It costs £144 to send out a 30kg parcel, all our change adds up ! Any companies, generous individuals or businesses wishing to sponsor a parcel please let me know.
