Memories - The Proms
British Proms comes to Brackley
The British Proms celebration took pride and place at the park suite on 20th September. The audience eagerly awaited entertainer and songstress Jackie Maynard who took them on a journey down memory lane.
She sang songs from the decades with audience participation all the way. British flags of Red, white and blue waving in the air just created the perfect atmosphere.
After the entertainment a fantastic lunch was served enjoyed by all.
Special guests were invited to share in the afternoon’s activities. They were Brackley Town Mayor Mr Don Thompson and Councillor Caryl Billingham MBE.
Pupils from Waynflete Primary School treated us all to three songs they had practiced and learned especially for this event which they performed in front of an audience of more than 80 people.
The pupils and staff joined in with the rest of the afternoon’s activities which involved a round of bingo and pupils and older people sharing their creative talents by making flags and paper chains together.
All those who attended this event embraced the opportunity to celebrate the theme of the day whilst joining in the activities offering both younger and older people the chance to share the experience together.
Special thanks to pupils and staff of Waynflete Primary School, Brackley.
This event was coordinated and hosted by Brackley Town Football club, as part of the Saint’s community project in partnership with SNVB South Northamptonshire School of project, funded by the National lottery.
Thank you for all those involved on the day for making this a special occasion.
