Memories - New Year Races 2019
Welcome 2019 to the Saints Community Project !
What better way to start out event days in the new year with a trip to the popular New Year Races. The perfect excuse to dress up in our racing best and get down to the club to see the action.
We were in with a treat with some great entertainment from Bob. Acoustic music, singalongs and audience participation were all part of his act. Shouts of more !! More could be heard outside on this bright January morning.
A hearty meal of bangers and mash was served with the assistance of key members of Tescos, Brackley. Finished with lemon tart, berries and fresh cream.
Then onto the exciting part of the day, our race experience was about to change forever. With the generous support of Tesco Bags of Help Grants Programme and all of the local people in Brackley that chose to support the project with their shopping tokens. The project was awarded £2000 grant for tv/visual aids equipment to be used for the many themed days that are organised.
We were able to showcase our new equipment at the "New Years Race Day" at Brackley Town Football Club. Project Leader, Kim Grantham and Football Club Chairman, Francis Oliver, unveiled the equipment and a few members of the project with Debbie and James from Tesco Brackley, cut the ribbon.
The whole race expletive was totally transformed with amazing images and superb commentary although the bookmakers definitely cane out on top again.
Another memorable day and a great start to the new year.
The coffee mornings are open to everyone, promoting social inclusion. We have a large number of elderly residents people with learning disabilities and those with mental health issues attending the coffee morning every Wednesday and the project is still growing. Everyone is always welcome.
