Memories - Easter Bonnet 2017
Wednesday 12th April 2017
One of the highlights of last year was definitely the Easter Bonnet Parade. Hours were spent creating some amazing hats and costumes and this year was no exception.
The day started with coffee and traditional hot cross buns freshly baked that morning by the town bakery. Several were able to partake in Easter crafts and finishing touches to the bonnets ready for the 12.30pm parade .
Jacqueline Maynard then entertained us with a whole show case of hits and sing alongs from across the decades. The Dancing was in full swing at the club on a cold Wednesday morning.
The management team from Brackley Tescos arrived as volunteers to help with the rest of the day and was great to welcome them as impartial judges for the all important Easter Bonnet Parade.
Bing Crosby gave us a sterling performance of The Easter Bonnet Parade as the judging took place. With such effort gone into the bonnets and the Parade there was four main prizes for the cutest, the most different, the prettiest and the most original. Some tough decisions were made that afternoon.
With the mornings entertainment at an end a Roast Chicken Dinner was most welcomed. The management team at Tescos were able to assist with the serving of the lunches and teas and coffee afterwards. What superstars they were !
The afternoon kicked off with a great through the decades quiz with different rounds and some Easter Bingo fun before the great Eater Egg Hunt for those that were able.
Finished off with the Eater Extravaganza raffle, one of our volunteers had spent the last couple of months appealing to local businesses and individuals for donations. With over 60 prizes it was an Extravaganza of delights. A huge and heartfelt thank you to all those that contributed, there was a lot of appreciation and monies went towards raising more funds for more great days !
Another superb day at the club with lots of fun, laughter and friendships ! Thank you all for coming along and being apart of a great day !
