Memories - Easter 2018
The Easter Bonnet Parade
It’s that time of year again for our popular annual event of the Easter Bonnet Parade. A hit among the project members who get creative and design and create their Easter Bonnets with their own unique design and flair.
We invite our community partners to judge the competition to show complete impartiality.
We had a wonderful start to the day with over 70 children from Waynflete infants School year 2 making the trip in the rain to share with us their Easter Performance., songs and a celebration of a wonderful time of year.
We all got active and joined in their wonderful routines for the songs and it was huge smiles around from everyone. The children then put their creative talents to good use with colour and decorating a selection of Easter eggs for us.
John and Anita arrived and continued on the entertainment and managed to get lots of us up dancing and joining in with a selection of musical accompaniments.
The Easter Bonnet Parade was next up and it was great to see a wonderful array of handmade bonnets. After much deliberation and an incredibly high standard of work Tescos declared everyone a winner and it was Prizes all around.
We were all ready for our Traditional Hearty Roast Chicken Dinner followed by Lemon Meringue pie, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
John and Anita up the tempo for the afternoon with a rock and roll style set to get everyone up and moving. A truly lovely day had by all and finished with the eagerly awaited Grand Raffle. On April 11th we are Turning it Pink and hold a fundraiser for Cancer Research. With a host of games planned, a cake sale and Billy Shepherd visiting to give us all tips on healthy eating and exercise it’s certainly been a busy few weeks for us all.
