Memories - Christmas Jumper Party 2019
At the Saints Community Project - Christmas Jumper Party today 18th Dec 2019 we held a raffle to help raise funds for the New Community Hospital Trust - to support the purchasing of new equipment for the hospital, enabling more services to be provided in our Community Hospital. We were incredibly pleased to hand over £170 today from our fundraising. #SCP #community
As the year draws to an end, the last 6 months ( since the fire) have been an incredibly challenging time for us all at the Saints Community Project. We have overcome more hurdles and obstacles than a lot of groups probably see in a decade and am pleased to say we are going stronger than ever, welcoming new faces each week.
Last week we were presented with the fact that our venue wouldn’t be accessible for our Christmas festivities due to road resurfacing.
Not defeated and knowing the show must go one ! A huge thank you to St Peters Church, Brackley and the hard work of our volunteers we were able to go all out for our Christmas Jumper Party today.
With a 5am start to ensure everything was in the right place and we were ready to get the party started on time.
Panicked this morning that no one would turn up due to lots of recent changes we were pleased to welcome over 80 members of our local community to our Christmas Jumper Party. #scp
We have had a day of fun, entertainment and a Christmas buffet in our festive jumpers. It was again, overwhelming to see the love, warmth and friendships in one room as we all had amazing day celebrating Christmas and our year together. It was lovely to see new faces becoming an integral part of our project, but remembering those that couldn’t be with us this year . #combating isolation and loneliness.
Nice and Easy Entertained us for the day, with sing along songs, singing and dancing. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
As well as our traditional Christmas Bonanza Tom bola we held a raffle with donated floral arrangements and raised an amazing £170 for our New Community Hospital. What an amazing day we had and what an amazing group we are.
A huge thank you must also go to the Co op Brackley for providing 2 members of their team to help us for the day. It was so appreciated and you did an amazing job. #community
On a personal note, I am absolutely humbled by the absolute and total dedication of our team of volunteers, week in week out throughout the year. Without them we wouldn’t have such an amazing project.
Today showed this and those that took a days holiday to ensure we had the best party ever ! Thank you from the bottom of my hear
